Volunteer
Job Descriptions
Greeters
Welcome visitors at the entrances to the various sites and provide information about activities taking place that day and throughout the festival. Guide participants to the activities and help them with the various services offered on the site. Provide VIP escort when necessary.
Info/ Administrative Officers
Provide information on-site at the various sites to the public and to participants about the festival, the sites, and the activities.

Administrative Officers:
Help with organizing the festival and finalizing details for the activities, ensuring that all required materials are delivered to the appropriate sites. Manage volunteer inquiries and contact the interested applicants.

Souvenirs
Customer service and sales of gifts and festival souvenirs. Manage the kiosk, its merchandise, and its presentation to give a good impression of quality and cleanliness. ..
Distributors
Instead of posting posters and flyers all over the city, volunteers will be posted at various locations throughout the city to hand out festival brochures, promote the festival and answer enquiries about the festival. This is a green alternative and works better with the festival image.
Organization/Logistics
Help with setting up the various sites including kiosks and flotilla lounges. Set up tables and chairs for the Enbridge Buy Local BBQ Challenge. Applicants should be advised that this job category requires some strenuous physical effort.
Site support
Assist with registration and recruitment of new volunteers on-site. Assist with the overall operations of the festival and its various activities. Provide support to the festival CEO and managers.
Bartenders
Serve alcohol on the sites where permits have been secured. Must be “Smart Serve” certified.
Team Zero
Provide information for any questions relating to the sustainability aspect of the festival. Assist in measuring the waste generated at the festival to ensure that the reductions are monitored and recorded.
Flotilla
Participate in the general tasks related to the arrival of the flotilla in Ottawa and two flotilla parades. Help with the operations and smooth running of the parades, assist with decorations, provide participants what they need and send out the boats in the precise order. Help the boaters get on board and with docking at the end of the parades. Provide support to the Flotilla Manager.
Hydro Ottawa Flotilla Reserved Seating Area
Participate in the general tasks of the activity including: securing the seating area for ticket holders admitting ticket holders accepting payments for tickets from “walk-ins” accepting payment for souvenirs — remove coordinating the site program including entertainment and live commentary site clean up at the conclusion of the flotilla parade and in general, assist with the smooth operation and running of the activity.
Bicycle Parade
Participate in the general tasks related to the Musical Breeze Bicycle Parade preparations. Help with the operations and smooth running of the parade, assist with the posting of instructions for cyclists along the parade route, and assist participants as needed. Provide support to the Bicycle Parade Manager.
