Welcome to the 2010 Flotilla!

This year you can go “Floating Through the Decades” in the exciting 35th Annual Rideau Canal Flotilla. A tradition in Ottawa since 1976, this boat parade is a great way to spend an afternoon or weekend with family & friends while being a part of something special. There is no cost to enter and participating boaters will be granted free locking and docking for the weekend of the Flotilla!

We are currently accepting applications to participate in the parade. Applicants will be asked to choose a decade for the theme of their float. Creative entries from any era, including when the building of the Rideau Canal in the 1830’s, to present day – or even the future – are all welcome!

Apply early so that you can decorate your boat to represent the decade of your choice! Entries per decade will be limited to ensure an entertaining variety of floats.

you can apply under three categories:

  • As a captain with a decorated boat, a captain with a boat to be decorated by someone else
  • Or with any community group interested in decorating a participating boat

THERE'S SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE!

To apply, please fill out one of our simple application forms and return it by email, fax, or drop by our office at 130 Slater Street, suite 100 – inside The People Bank staffing agency.

DEADLINE TO ENTER IS JUNE 21st

VolunteersWe are always looking for Volunteers to help with various tasks including: decorating boats, registering participants, setting up the awards banquet, and more. Sign up through the Rideau Canal Festival and indicate that you would like to help with the Flotilla.

If you would like to help with the a float prior to the festival, sign up early so we can pair you with a captain to start creating a design.

We look forward to meeting you!
Applications will be accepted through June 1, 2010.
