Canadian Museum of Nature
Get eyeball to eyeball with some of the fish that swim in our Rideau Canal and local rivers. The Canadian Museum of Nature’s whopping 4,550-litre River Aquarium is home to over 20 species of freshwater fish. Located in the Museum’s spectacular RBC Blue Water Gallery, this fascinating aquarium will have you gazing for a long time at Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Yellow Perch, Bluegill and many others of their finned-friends. Whether you’re a fisherman, novice or simply naturally curious, you’ll be engrossed as you peer into this watery world. Learn about the importance of wetlands and visit our spotted turtle tank. Kids will love the arctic research ship and zodiac play area. Don’t forget to say hello to Tallulah, a 19-metre blue whale from Canada’s east coast!
Canada’s first national museum is also home to dinosaurs, mammals, dioramas, a huge bird collection, hands-on activities and more. Be sure to visit the new Vale Earth Gallery, Animalium and modern HD theatre in the completely renovated 100-year-old Canadian Museum of Nature.
