How it works
Adopt-A-Metre of Rideau Canal Heritage for only $20 in your own name or the name of someone you love.
Proceeds from the Adopt-A-Metre program are used to support our four-day celebration of free activities for the whole family, our “Connecting Children with Heritage” school awareness programs, and to fulfill the Festival’s commitment to our Aim-for-Zero-Footprint approach.
Our goal is to celebrate the Rideau Canal, Ontario’s only UNESCO World Heritage site, and its fascinating history through fun and educational activities, without negatively impacting our environment.
Adopter Benefits
Adopting a metre will entitle you to the following benefits:
- A personalized Colonel By E-Certificate of Adoption identifying your metre number and recognizing your support of the Rideau Canal
- Your name on the Adopt-A-Metre website page from the moment you adopt (Optional)
- Your name on a Heritage Metre Marker on the embankment of the Rideau Canal from July 30th to August 2nd, 2010 (Optional)
- E-Adoption Card with benefits and discounts offered by Festival partners year-round
